this was the last track to be written and recorded for the album. I really just wanted a fun, straight ahead pop tune that still had the ambient vibe i love.

i remember that the day I wrote it I was listening to some Brian Eno, Sting and the Strokes... and wanted to see what would happen if they did a song together.

The funny thing is... Reach Out sounds nothing like that kind of mix up!! But in the moment.. it was the spark that started it all. I wrote and recorded the whole demo in a day. Then a month later got Josh to track drums and a guitar track for it. Most of the tracks are straight from the original demo.
